Who Are We?

Troop 225 is in the Heart of America Council which covers parts of Missouri and Kansas. We are in the Red-Tailed Hawk District on the East side of Olathe. We meet at College Church of the Nazarene.

We maintain a 12-month camping program with an extensive bead program and the Knotmaster (knot skills) program.

Prospective recruits are welcome to come by and sit in on a meeting, and we are always looking for boys to sign up and join our Troop! Give us a call (913-764-5271) to let us know you plan to visit, and come on by! Or email us, if you like!

If you are a Webelos Den Leader and would like to schedule a visit to our troop, meet with our leaders or have other questions, please contact our Webelos Coordinator, Scott Smith. Additionally, Scott has prepared a Webelos/New Scout Information Page that may answer many of your questions about us and about transitioning to Boy Scouting.

Troop 225 was started in 1997 with only five boys who had just crossed over from Webelos, and we have since grown quickly. We advanced our first two Eagle Scouts in 2002, and have added to that list steadily. Our Troop uses the patrol method. We have both age-similar and mixed-age patrols. Generally the new boys form a new-boy patrol(s) for several months, under the instruction of our new-boy Assistant Scoutmaster. Boys always tent with others of the same age on campouts.

Because 225 is still a young and growing Troop, there are many traditions being set, policies and procedures being developed, and it's exciting to be in on the beginning of new plans. We are continually adding to our camping equipment stock and have great support from our Chartered Organization in reaching our goals.

Hard Work Pays Off:
Although we are a young Troop (est 1997) we are etablishing ourselves as leaders in our District. Several boys and adults are inducted members of Order of the Arrow and Mic-O-Say (including hard-way warriors). Other recognitions include the following:
