Hayden Knott -- Assistant Scoutmaster

Hayden KnottWhen asked why are you involved in Scouting, Hayden replied, “It's fun!”

He has two sons and a daughter. He works as a Sales Representative and enjoys canoeing, camping, cooking, and photography in his spare time.

As a boy he only went through Webelos. As an adult, he held several positions for his son’s Cub pack including Summer Camp Coordinator, Cubmaster, Den Leader, and currently Assistant Den leader. He has completed Youth Protection, New Leaders Essentials for Cubmaster and Scoutmaster, Safety Afloat and Safe Swim Defense.

Hayden’s favorite Scouting Memory is from the May 2006 campout. “Andrew and another older scout were assigned the task of helping our "new boys" get set up on their first campout. Once all of their tents were set up and their gear arranged, these two boys were given a scenario from which they had to survive for the weekend. Long and short of it, they were told they had been in a canoe trip accident and all the equipment they had was what we gave them (tarp, blanket, 3 matches, can of sardines, fishing line & hooks, and a Hershey Bar). They were then marched about 400 yards away to their new camp site. And then it started raining. The boys fashioned a tent out of their tarp, built a fire and kept it going all night, and in the morning were able to catch a catfish for their breakfast. It was a great experience for me to see my son not only survive but thrive under these conditions.”
