Ed Davey -- Scoutmaster

Ed DaveyMore interested in having a good time than advancements, Ed earned the rank of Second Class and only one merit badge as a young Scout. When his son was in Cub Scouts Ed was drafted to be a Webelos co-leader. Enjoying the task more than he anticipated, he followed Brenton into Boy Scouts and was quickly an Assistant Scoutmaster of the very small troop. He was appointed Scoutmaster of Troop 225 in April 2000.

Along the way Ed has completed Basic Leadership Training/Scoutmaster Essentials, been awarded the God and Service Recognition, Scoutmaster Award of Merit, Boy Scout Leaders Training Award and is an Honorary Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say. He attended Wood Badge Training and is in the process of completing his ticket items.

Ed and his wife, Arleta, also have a daughter, Ashton. She is quite creative, as good student, enjoys babysitting and took her dad on a mission trip to China. They all watched with pride as Brenton became the troop’s first Eagle Scout at the age of 14.

When Ed isn’t Scouting he owns and manages an Electrical Contracting company in Olathe, his home town. He enjoys hunting, camping, antique vehicles, and overseas mission trips.

His favorite Scouting memories are accompanying Scouts to Sea Base and OkPik, though he gets great satisfaction from seeing the boys mature into responsible citizen leaders.

Ed can be reached most any time at 913.980.0122
