HarvestFest 2006 Photos

What a great time! And GREAT food prepared by our Scouts! Thanks to Gary and Vicky Morsch for "lending" us their property for our HarvestFest gathering. Nearly 120 parents, friends, brothers and sisters of our Scouts enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving Feast (including "hot" mashed potatoes -- they weren't lumpy Scoutmaster Ed!) with all the trimmings includuing even cranberry sauce and desert -- all prepared outside in cardboard box ovens by our Scouts. If you missed this, you missed a great time! Check out the pictures.

Venture Patrol Firing Up

We are re-activating our Venture Patrol. There will be a meeting next Monday evening (June 26) after the Court of Honor, for any boys that are interested. The requirements (summarized from our Troop By-Laws) are as follows:

- The Scout must be not less than 14 years of age
- The Scouts must be approved for participation by the Scoutmaster with the concurrence of the Venture Patrol Advisors
- The Scout must have been awarded his Life Scout rank and making perceptible progress toward his Eagle rank
- The Scout must maintain not less than a 75% participation level in normal Troop meetings, campouts, service projects and other regularly scheduled Troop activities
- The Scout must maintain his registration as a regular member of Troop 225 in good standing and remain current in all financial obligation with Troop 225
- The Scout's participation in regular Troop activities shall maintain acceptable demonstrations of Scout Spirit and boy leadership within the Troop.
- The Scout must participate actively in the functions, outings, preparations and meetings of the Venture Patrol as determined by the Venture Patrol Advisors.
- Interpretation of these criteria will be within the sound discretion of the Troop Committee...The committee's decision in such matters shall be final.

Some FAQs on 2006 Camp Payments

We've put together some FAQs (that's "internetspeak" for Frequently Asked Questions) on camp payments, refunds, how the process works, etc. Hopefully this will be of help to our families for next year. Click here.

General Policy Statements:

Troop 225's policy is that all adults attending overnight events are required to complete two basic levels of training. They are Troop 225's Fast Start (other Pack or Troop Fast Starts do not qualify), and BSA Youth Protection. Youth protection is available online, and there will be Fast Start training offered on Mondays during Troop meetings. Additionally, all adults that are in contact with youth must be checked through an on-line check performed by the Sponsoring Organization. These requirements are by the BSA, our Troop and of our Sponsoring Organization.

Our accounting system is continuously available to you. Please make regular deposits to cover expenses. Mr Meier is at most Monday meetings to handle financial transactions.
